This is College Physics Answers with Shaun Dychko. The textbook tells us that when a glass rod is rubbed with silk, the glass rod becomes positive and the silk becomes negative. And so this means, electrons are removed from the rod so that there are more protons on the rod than there are electrons. And so it becomes positive and electrons must be removed to do that.
