1. The charge must be placed $0.859 \textrm{ m}$ from the negative charge on the side away from the positive charge.
2. $0.141 \textrm{ m}$ away from the $5.00 \textrm{ }\mu\textrm{C}$ charge, between the charges. This might also be expressed as $0.109 \textrm{ m}$ from the $-3.00 \textrm{ }\mu\textrm{C}$ charge, between the charges.
