This is College Physics Answers with Shaun Dychko. The wave equation says that the speed of light equals frequency times wavelength and we can solve for f by dividing both sides by Lambda. And so we take the speed of light and divide it by the wavelength of this infrared wavelength. And so that's 3 times 10 to the 8 meters per second divided by 15 micrometers, which is times 10 to the minus 6 meters giving a frequency of 2.00 times 10 to the 13 Hertz.
