This is College Physics Answers with Shaun Dychko. A strobe light is flashing such that each flash will last for 8.00 times 10 to the minus 5 seconds and the question is what is the frequency of the flashing or in other words, how many flashes are there per second? So that is the reciprocal of this period. And so we take 1 flash for every 8.00 times 10 to the minus 5 seconds and this works out to 12.5 times 10 to the 3 flashes per second or you could say 12.5 kilohertz.
