The positive sigma particle has three anti-strange quarks and we have to show that the total baryon number is negative one that the strangeness is positive three and the total charge is positive one and we are gonna show these things based on examining these quarks, these three anti-strange quarks. So we'll look at baryon number and for each anti-strange quark, the baryon number is negative a third. We have this plus or minus here; the plus refers to the thing in this column the matter version and then the bottom symbol here refers to the anti-matter version. So a anti-strange quark has a positive one-third of the elementary charge and it has negative one-third baryon number. OK So negative one-third for each anti-quark and so times three gives a total baryon number of negative one and so we have verified that that is the case based on its quarks. The strangeness per strange anti-quark is plus one and you can tell that from the bottom number here in this column, this is the strangeness column. And times that by three for the three quarks there and we have a total of positive three is the strangeness. And the charge per anti-strange quark is negative of a third wrong column, sorry I should say positive one-third of the elementary charge and so we multiply that by three to get a total charge of plus one.
